The ingredient provides a daily dose of 40 mg of undenatured type II collagen.
InterHealth Nutraceuticals’ (Benicia, CA) signature joint-health ingredient UC-II is featured in a new version of the Move Free Ultra supplement from Schiff Nutrition. The ingredient provides a daily dose of 40 mg of undenatured type II collagen.
“UC-II’s clinical data is impressive, and it works in a unique way to inhibit joint cartilage damage, enabling the body to rebuild healthy joints,” stated Jennifer Steeves-Kiss, Schiff’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer.
According to InterHealth, UC-II helps slow down the secretion of enzymes that degrade joint cartilage. The company says peer-reviewed published clinical research has shown that 40 mg of UC-II increases joint mobility, flexibility, and quality of life twice as effectively as glucosamine and chondroitin.
The ingredient holds both new dietary ingredient status in the United States and non-novel food status in the EU.
