The extract, called Vanizem, is sustainably sourced from Aframomum melegueta spice, is marketed for stress and mood support.
Nektium (Gran Canaria, Spain) has announced that it will be launching a new botanical extract, called Vanizem at this year’s Vitafoods Europe, taking place in Geneva, Switzerland between May 14 and 16. The extract, sustainably sourced from Aframomum melegueta spice, is marketed for stress and mood support.
According to the company’s press release, the extract modulated receptors and enzymes within the endocannabinoid system, which offers a different mechanism for stress management. Nektium uses a proprietary technology that allows it to maintain the stability of the main bioactive compound, total vanilloid, throughout extraction and encapsulation. Further research on the ingredient will be presented in Vitafood’s New Ingredients Theatre (F184) at 1:30 PM on May 15.
“We’re delighted to present our new Vanizem ingredient at Vitafoods 2024 and showcase its ability to help consumers manage stress and mood,” said Bruno Berheide, commercial and partnership director at Nektium, in a press release. “It’s a hugely exciting addition to our broad portfolio of botanical extracts, which provide natural, sustainable and evidence-based solutions to address a wide range of consumer needs.”
Other ingredients in Nektium’s portfolio include Rhodiolife and Zynamite.
