Nature’s Way announces launch of $12 million geothermal project as part of sustainability efforts
Geothermal technology will be used to support the facility’s heating and cooling systems while reducing natural gas reliance and CO2 emissions.
In a July 9, 2025, press release, vitamin and supplement company Nature’s Way announced the start of its Geothermal Project at its manufacturing facility in Challenger Drive, Wisconsin. The project, a $12 million investment, is intended to reduce the company’s natural gas reliance as well as reduce CO2 emissions.
"As a company rooted in nature, it’s only right that we do our part in supporting the natural world we live in,” stated Scott Woodruff, Nature’s Way CEO, in the press release. “The Geothermal Project is the right thing to do for our company, our customers, and our Green Bay community where we make the products people have come to trust since 1969.”
Well drilling began the week of July 7 and a total of 280 wells at 500 feet deep are planned to the facility's sustainable HVAC system, eliminating the need for five chillers and six boilers in the process. The completion of the Geothermal Project is expected before the end of 2026.
“Our team is leading the largest sustainability investment in our company’s history,” stated Nate Sengstock, Nature’s Way senior project manager. “Watching the rigs begin drilling wells this week was the culmination of over a year of preparation, and I’m proud of our team’s work to get to this point. I’d like to thank our partners on this project, CD Smith Construction, Ahern Mechanical, Northland Electric, and EUA Architects, for their dedication and expertise. We're looking forward to celebrating the completion of this project and the positive impacts it will have for Nature’s Way and the community.”
The project is anticipated to reduce the company’s annual CO2 emissions by 850 tons.
