The company will host two education seminars on nutrigenomics this May.
Metagenics Inc. (San Clemente, CA) has announced two upcoming seminars on diabetes management and nutrigenomics for medical practitioners. The seminars will take place on May 19 in New York and May 20 in Los Angeles (also available through simulcast).
The program for both events includes a presentation from Mark Hyman, MD, author of four New York Times best-sellers, including The Blood Sugar Solution. Hyman will explain how to assess causes and risks of diabetes and heart-related diseases, and how to develop lifestyle strategies to recapture patient health.
Hyman will be joined by Bridget Briggs, MD, and Deanna Minich, PhD, FACN, CNS, clinical nutritionist and vice president of scientific affairs at Metagenics. Briggs and Minich will discuss the role of nutrigenomics in health and disease, identifying risks, and personalizing intervention.

The events have been organized under the Metagenics University educational division.
Meta-analysis does not find increased risk of bleeding events from omega-3 PUFA consumption
July 8th 2024Researchers reviewed 11 studies and found that there was no difference in the incidence of bleeding events between patients receiving omega-3 PUFAs and those not receiving them. High dose EPA consumption was associated with an elevated but modest risk.
Recent review states that pentadecanoic acid may support cellular stability for better longevity
June 25th 2024According to the paper’s author, Stephanie Venn-Watson, DVM, MPH, deficiency in pentadecanoic acid of ≤0.2% total circulating fatty acids increases the risk of ferroptosis, which a type of cell death cause by the peroxidation of fragile fatty acids in cell membranes that combines with iron thus increasing reactive oxygen species, and disabling mitochondria.
