Invita named by NutriLeads as the exclusive distributor in New Zealand and Australia for Benicaros
NutriLeads recently announced Invita as the exclusive distributor of Benicaros in New Zealand and Australia.
Invita was named in a recent press release from NutriLeads to be the new exclusive distributor of Benicaros, a prebiotic used with food, beverage, and dietary supplement applications. The new agreement is specific to Australia and New Zealand. Manufacturers within these countries will be able to access the prebiotic and the specialty ingredient supplier and product developer.
“We’re excited to partner with Invita to represent Benicaros in Australia and New Zealand,” said Joana Carneiro-Wakefield, Ph.D., Chief Executive Officer of NutriLeads, in the press release. “Their strong technical and commercial expertise, coupled with a deep understanding of regional regulatory and market dynamics, makes them an excellent partner to accelerate Benicaros’ growth in these important markets.”
Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) in Australia has given approval to the ingredient Benicaros SF Pure P, made from upcycled carrot pomace and contains RG-I. In New Zealand, the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) acknowledged Benicaros’ unique mechanism of action and its immune benefits which allows the ingredient “to be marketed with the following pre-approved structure/function claims for food, beverages, and supplements.” Benicaros has shown potential in helping the body’s immune responses, as well as strengthening the beneficial bacteria that resides in the gut. With its unique mechanism, the prebiotic helps focus in on fermentation and the creation of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs).
The press release explained that some of the benefits of Benicaros include:
- Supporting beneficial gut bacteria
- Supporting healthy immune function
- Supports immune defenses
- Supports a healthy gut microbiome
“Benicaros offers a new standard in prebiotics for the Australia and New Zealand market,” said Mike Johnson, Group Managing Director, Invita NZ Limited & Australia Pty Ltd. “Its low effective dose, excellent tolerability, and robust scientific backing make it a unique and exciting ingredient for innovation in both the food and supplement sectors. We are thrilled to introduce this to our customers.”
