Health Canada’s Natural and Non-Prescription Health Products Directive recently approved a claim stating that Biova LLC’s (Johnston, IA) nutricosmetic ingredient BiovaB.I.O. can help improve hair thickness.
The ingredient is based on water-soluble eggshell membrane and has been shown to reduce hair breakage and improve hair growth in four weeks, thanks to constituents like collagen and elastin. This was evidenced in a study published last year in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology.1
BiovaB.I.O. also demonstrated skin support in the study, reducing the appearance of crow’s feet in four weeks and improving the appearance of even skin tone in eight weeks.
