Gummies are delicious, and manufacturers of otherwise boring dietary supplements are finally realizing this. Consumers can buy multivitamin gummies, fiber gummies, calcium gummies, and even fish oil gummies. And, with your help, they might soon buy krill oil gummies.
Aker BioMarine (Oslo, Norway), a supplier of krill oils and powders, says it can now provide a krill ingredient suitable for gummies. The company has been looking into this for some time, and it now has relationships with gummy specialists to create prototype gummies made with Superba brand krill. In an interview with Nutritional Outlook, Aker BioMarine said the gummy format would still yield the same phospholipid omega-3 content available in today’s krill oil softgels.
Aker says in-house tests and feedback from customers have been positive. No word yet as to whether the krill gummies are shaped like little krill.
