FrieslandCampina Ingredients (Amersfoort, The Netherlands) is celebrating the success of its series of live virtual events called “Nutritional Health Solutions for an Evolving World.” The innovative live event platform brought together world-renowned specialists in science and academia, nutrition, and market expertise, with nearly 400 industry professionals to explore the challenges and opportunities of nutrition in a post-COVID-19 world through engaging presentations, and Q&A sessions.

“With so many in-person events being postponed or cancelled, amid widespread travel restrictions, we accelerated our ambition to find a smarter way to engage with our customers,” said Els Zeeuwen, director branding and communications at FrieslandCampina Ingredients, in a press release. “Additionally, on the back of the current pandemic, we’ve seen an even higher interest from both customers and consumers in nutritional solutions that enhance health and wellbeing. And so, we set out to create a genuinely unique and expansive experience that was completely immersive and provided a huge amount of education as well as inspiration.”

The series featured an exclusive online conference theater called that “Health Hub” which hosted more than 15 hand-picked experts to lead a roster of presentations and Q&A sessions on gut health, immunity, and muscle and mobility. A lively roundtable discussion entitled “After-effects: COVID-19 and its impact on consumer behaviours,” garnered significant attention, and was viewed by over 200 people worldwide. In addition to educational presentations, an interactive “Product Zone” gave attendees the ability to explore the latest consumer insights and 3D nutritional product concepts. The catalogue of application ideas showcased the diverse uses of FrieslandCampina’s dairy-based ingredient innovations.

“The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Not only are we raising the bar in terms of an interactive virtual experience, but we also welcomed world-renowned speakers to our virtual stage in various engaging ways,” Zeeuwen continued. “From webinars to Q&A sessions, focusing on a range of topics from the gut-brain axis to the latest research on immunity, we’re proud to have brought the very latest nutritional innovations and research to guests from across the globe. Together, we can meet the wellness needs of tomorrow’s consumers.”

The exclusive data gathered from the live event platform has also lent insights into varying global health priorities and interest. For example, European attendees were most interested in content related to gut health, and immunity while North American attendees had the most interaction with sports nutrition topics. Asian audiences engaged most with topics of gut-brain axis and digestive health.
