City employees were invited to participate in a wellness initiative that offers Epicor dietary supplements.
An employee wellness workshop held as part of a National Foundation for Women Legislators annual conference highlighted a relationship between the City of Ankeny, IA, and Embria Health Sciences (Ankeny, IA), supplier of immune-health ingredient Epicor.
City employees were invited to participate in a wellness initiative that offers Epicor dietary supplements, comprising protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, to support and balance the immune system. This is a continuing initiative that has supplied Epicor supplements to employees in the past, which at one time resulted in a 28% decrease in employee doctor visits for cold, flu, and upper respiratory illnesses in the City’s human resource department.
“I was encouraged by the interest level of the attendees and the two-way discussion I was able to have with them on how cities and businesses alike can take similar approaches to their employee wellness programs, and improve their bottom line and increase employee productivity in the process,” said Tim Moerman, assistant city manager for the City of Ankeny.
Embria says it will continue to push such initiatives. “Given the successful outcome of the partnership with the City of Ankeny, Embria Health Sciences is amenable to working with other businesses and organizations in the public and private sectors to demonstrate the importance of year-round immune support and how good employee health impacts an organization’s overall success,” stated Embria’s director of marketing Cheryl Sturm.
