EAS Managing Director Awarded with Medal from Cambodia

Pushpanathan served as the deputy secretary general for the ASEAN Economic Community from January 2009 to March 2011, before joining the EAS Strategic Advice Asia office in August of this year.

EAS Asia managing director Pushpanathan Sundram was awarded in November with a medal from the Kingdom of Cambodia for his work within the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) and for his contributions to Cambodia as a member of ASEAN.

Pushpanathan was awarded the class 3 Commander of the Sahakmétrey Order, one of the most distinguished decorations given to foreign dignitaries by the Kingdom of Cambodia, on November 21 in Phnom Penh. He served as the deputy secretary general for the ASEAN Economic Community from January 2009 to March 2011, before joining the EAS Strategic Advice Asia office in August of this year.

“I am humbled by this honor and delighted that the services of the ASEAN Secretariat and mine are recognized,” Pushpanathan said.“I am happy that I will still be able to contribute to the goal of ASEAN integration from my new role at EAS. EAS has been involved in many harmonization initiatives across the world and I believe our collective experience as a company will bring significant benefits to ASEAN and other regions of the world engaged in regional integration.”
