DSM’s Oatwell Earns Accolade at FiSA 2013

DSM Nutritional Products' (Heerlen, Netherlands) OatWell brand oat beta-glucan, which was acquired from Swedish Oat Fiber earlier this year, continues to earn industry praise. Following positive reviews from EFSA and health claim authorizations from the European Commission (Article 14 for cholesterol reduction and the associated reduced risk of developing heart disease, and Article 13.1 for digestive health and blood glucose control), OatWell has also earned a top accolade at Food Ingredients South America (FiSA) 2013, having been named one of the most innovative products of the year.

Clinical studies conducted on beta-glucan, a soluble fiber from oats, have confirmed its heart health benefits and cholesterol lowering abilities.
