DSM Supplies Argan Oil for Personal Care Markets

DSM Nutritional Products (Basel, Switzerland) is supplying a 100% pure form of Moroccan argan oil, intended for skin and hair applications in the personal care industry.

The company has supplied the ingredient for skin care for two years and nail care for one year. Argan oil is expected to benefit consumers through its supply of antioxidants, carotenoids, vitamin E, and unsaturated fatty acids

“It restores the skin’s lipid layer, increases the amount of nutrients and oxygen in the skin cell, neutralizes free radicals, and protects connective tissue,” said DSM in a recent press release. “It thus defends the skin against premature aging and UV exposure. This makes argan oil ideal for claims relating to soothing and reducing visible signs of aging.”

While argan oil naturally carries a strong odor, DSM’s manufacturing process ensures the final ingredient is neutral in odor and color.
