Colorants firm D.D. Williamson (Louisville, KY) has acquired DuPont Danisco’s (Wilmington, DE) food coloring business. DDW says the transaction especially expands the company’s range of natural colorants, and it makes DDW the largest manufacturer of annatto-based food colorings, which are carotenoid colorings used to produce yellow-to-orange hues.
“The larger toolkit will improve DDW’s ability to develop unique color solutions for applications, one customer at a time, and will extend our manufacturing expertise in Wisconsin,” said Ted Nixon, DDW’s chairman and CEO, in a press release.
