Cata-Kor's Liposomal Glutathione Achieves NSF/ANSI 173 Certification

Cata-Kor, a U.S.-based nutraceutical company, announced it has received independent dietary supplement certification from NSF for its Liposomal Glutathione supplement.¹ NSF/ANSI 173 is the American National Standard for dietary supplements, and certification to it means the product has been independently verified against benchmarks for manufacturing quality, purity, and accuracy of label claims, the recent press release notes.

What Does the Certification Cover?

The company states that NSF's listing shows the certification date as August 7, 2026, and applies to the product as made at Cata-Kor's Farmingdale, NJ, manufacturing site. Reaching that certification required an outside evaluation that combined laboratory testing with quality-system audits benchmarked against NSF/ANSI 173. That review looked at whether the company's cGMP practices, from qualifying raw material suppliers to tracking batches and maintaining quality-management records, hold up under outside scrutiny, in addition to chemical and microbiological screening for contaminants.

Separately, Cata-Kor is pursuing certification for a reformulated version of the Liposomal Glutathione product that uses different excipients. That update is going through NSF's streamlined technical review rather than a ground-up certification, a process the company anticipates wrapping up within roughly a month.

How Does This Fit Cata-Kor's Track Record?

This marks Cata-Kor's third NSF/ANSI 173 certification in 2026; the company stated that its NAD+ Advanced and NMN formulations were certified earlier in the year, with the two approvals landing close together. Cata-Kor products have separately gone through the Alkemist Assured program, which checks ingredient identity and potency. Taken together, the company frames these steps as a layered approach to third-party verification, motivated in part by retailers and marketplaces that are pushing suppliers to document cGMP compliance through outside audits.

What Other Quality News Has Cata-Kor Announced?

The certification follows separate independent testing results Cata-Kor released on 12 top-selling glutathione supplements purchased from Amazon.com.² The company bought the products off Amazon during April and June 2026 and sent them to Swift Laboratory, an Ontario, California, facility accredited under ISO 17025:2017 (ANAB Certificate No. AT-2969), for HPLC-based analysis.

Six of the 12 products tested short of their labeled glutathione content. The remaining six products, which included one from Cata-Kor, came in at or above their stated amounts. Cata-Kor's own Liposomal Glutathione tested at 1,082 mg of L-Glutathione Complex per serving against a label claim of 1,000 mg, with co-ingredient and heavy metals results also reported within specification.

"Label accuracy is the baseline, not a differentiator," stated Miroedov, in the press release. "When 6 of 12 products we tested failed to deliver what the label claims, that is a consumer protection issue. We are publishing these results because buyers deserve to know what they are actually getting."
