In Burcon’s press release, the company mentioned that they utilize a proprietary process to extract and purify the protein coming from fava beans.1 As mentioned in the press release, fava beans can be used to help benefit soil health and decrease the use of synthetic fertilizers due to their nitrogen-fixing capabilities for crops.
