Ardent Mills stepping away from sweet ingredient mixes, sells Canadian facility to Dawn Foods

Ardent Mills (Denver, CO) announced that it closed a deal on June 21, 2019 with Dawn Food Products Inc. (Jackson, MS), a global bakery manufacturer and ingredient supplier, in which Dawn Foods acquired an Ardent Mills ingredient mix facility in Burlington, Ontario, taking over the sweet ingredient business and expanding its Canadian reach. As part of the agreement, Ardent Mills will continue to supply flour to the facility now under Dawn Foods’ ownership.

“This mutually beneficial acquisition allows us to step away from sweet ingredient mixes and concentrate on flour and savory mixes,” said Dan Dye, CEO of Ardent Mills, in a press release. “Our team members and customers in Canada will be well taken care of by Dawn and we are committed to a smooth transition.”
