The Slovenian company has introduced a rosemary alternative to preservative tocopherols.
Vitiva (Markovci, Slovenia) has developed Substar, a rosemary-based alternative to preservative tocopherols. The company’s “complete tocopherol replacement” comes to market at a time when the company says tocopherols are rising in price and scarcity.
Substar is an oil-soluble ingredient that can improve shelf life of various foods, cosmetics, pet food, and pet feed through oxidation management. Vitiva says that, unlike traditional rosemary extracts, Substar is highly deodorized, light in color, heat stable, and low in flavor and odor.
