Alkemist Labs (Garden Grove, CA) will unveil an initiative called Next Generation Transparency at SupplySide West 2019 in Las Vegas, NV that provides a consumer-friendly certificate of analysis for botanical testing. Essentially, Alkemist Labs has made high-performance liquid chromatography reports comprehensible for public consumption by consumers. These certificates of analysis will be available for CBD, and for all other herbs in commerce.
Consumers value transparency, and brands have been spending a great deal of money to demonstrate these same values. Testing products to assure identity is an important way for brands to maintain product integrity and safety, but the test results usually remain with the internal quality assurance, quality care team and auditors. Giving consumers these tests results in a format that is simple and comprehensible is a valuable step forward in transparency.
