At SupplySide MarketPlace, Sabinsa Corp. (East Windsor, NJ) introduced two new water-soluble ingredients. One is a Boswellia serrata ingredient called Polybos. It is a water-soluble polysaccharide fraction of Boswellia serrata. According to Sabinsa, Polybos exhibited excellent joint-health support in studies in arthritic animals, showing reduction of odema (swelling) as well as in inflammatory markers such as TNF-alpha and LTB4. The company says Polybos’s water solubility is well suited to aqueous formulations such as those for sports nutrition.
The other new water-soluble ingredient is a standardized Moringa oleifera extract called Moringin. It contains a minimum of 5% of the flavonoid glycoside rutin.
Finally, the company showcased its recently launched Curcumin C3 Reduct ingredient, which it calls the “next generation” of highly absorbable curcumin that also provides more formulation options to manufacturers.
