Suntava Inc.’s (Afton, MN) purple corn ingredients-used in chips, cereals, tortillas, and baked goods, among others-is now certified organic. The certified-organic crop will be available starting with October 2013’s harvest season.
Suntava says that, among purple corn’s benefits, Brunswick Laboratories (Southborough, MA) found that the ingredient has higher antioxidant content than fruits such as blueberries, acai, and pomegranate juice.
