Settlement announced for patent infringement dispute of Magtein magnesium L-threonate by ThreoTech

In a recent press release, ThreoTech, LLC (ThreoTech), announced that the company had reached a confidential settlement with doTerra. The settlement ends a patent infringement dispute regarding ThreoTech’s Magtein magnesium L-theronate nutritional supplement.

“Magtein is a unique dietary supplement ingredient protected by a variety of composition and use patents,” said Edward Lee, CEO of ThreoTech, LLC, in a press release. “Our patent portfolio and other intellectual property supporting Magtein magnesium L-threonate is strong. We stand ready to protect our intellectual property.”

This isn’t the first patent infringement dispute involving Magtein. In December 2024¹, ThreoTech LLC announced that the company reached a confidential settlement with Green Jeeva.
