Rhema Group Acquires Powder Blending Plant

Article

The firm says the acquisition makes it “one of the only pure-play contract manufacturers in North America” to own facilities in both Canada and the United States.

The Rhema Group, a contract manufacturer specializing in powder products, has acquired a powder blending plant in Ogden, UT. The contract manufacturer, whose headquarters are located in Coquitlam, BC, Canada, says the acquisition makes it one of the only "pure-play contract manufacturers in North America” (meaning that the firm focuses solely on contract manufacturing and does not manufacture its own brands) to own facilities in both Canada and the United States, and that it streamlines the company’s custom manufacturing in Canada and the United States.

The powder blending plant more than doubles Rhema’s previous blending capabilities. Additionally, the powder blending plant, in addition to another Rhema-owned Ogden-based packaging facility plus a partnership in a 40,000-sq-ft warehousing operation, means Rhema now has a75,000-sq-ft footprint in the United States. The company says that the two locations provide customers with more manufacturing flexibility in both regions.

The company has manufactured powder products for the natural products industry since 1990, as well as tablets and capsules and packaging in bottles, gusset bags, sachets, and stick packs. It also offers certifications and manufacturing for such programs as NSF, NSF for Sport, GIG gluten free, QAI and SAI Organic, Health Canada Establishment License, non-GMO, and kosher.
