Costa Rican sweetener manufacturer LAICA has introduced Natuvia, a zero-calorie stevia-sucrose sweetener using PureCircle (Oak Brook, IL) stevia.
The retail product is now available in packages of 50 or 100 1-gram sachets.
Along with the inclusion of PureCircle stevia, the product is highlighted with the Stevia PureCircle trust mark. Brands around the world-including Silk Light soymilk and Go Coco coconut water (Australia)-have incorporated the trust mark onto their products to increase consumer trust.
“We are committed to delivering what our consumers want and it is clear that our consumers are looking for natural, calorie-reduced sweetening products that complement our core sugar business,” said Edgar G. Herrera, general manager of LAICA. “PureCircle helps us address this need with both a high quality, great tasting ingredient and a communication platform to educate consumers.”
