PureCircle Ltd. (Chicago) has announced the global launch of a new proprietary stevia sweetener, intended to be used in products seeking greater caloric reductions. Called Alpha, the new stevia ingredient allegedly provides more rounded sweetness and less bitterness for products seeking calorie reductions from 50% to 100%.
The ingredient results from a proprietary mix of steviol glycosides. It is JECFA compliant and ready for use in foods and beverages where local regulations allow stevia to be marketed for consumption.
