S&W Seed is close to completing PureCircle's first harvest. More harvests are scheduled.
PureCircle (Chicago) is reportedly nearing completion of its first commercial U.S. stevia harvest, planted by S&W Seed Co. (Five Points, CA).
The partnership on local stevia farming was announced by the two companies last August. It is PureCircle’s response to a growing stevia market that will rely on consumers seeking locally-grown products.
Last August, PureCircle CEO and managing director Magomet Malsagov said the project would bring its business “as close to our end markets as possible, reducing the energy footprint of the industry and supporting the sustainability of stevia growers.”
S&W will likely expand the PureCircle crop this fall and next spring, says PureCircle.
