The company stated that products such as olive oil also improve the absorption of oil-soluble CoQ10.
Olive oil and other lipophilic (oil soluble) products could open up potential for CoQ10 in functional foods, said Kaneka Pharma Europe (Brussels, Belgium) at the recent Food Ingredients Europe (FIE) trade show. Kaneka is the developer of the Kaneka Q10 brand of CoQ10.
The company stated that products such as olive oil also improve the absorption of oil-soluble CoQ10.
To exemplify its point, at FIE Kaneka displayed an extra virgin olive oil product by Costa d’Oro called Olisana K-Young, which features Kaneka Q10. “Olive oil serves as a good matrix for optimal Q10 bioavailability and thus promises huge market potential for products fortified with Q10,” Kaneka stated in a press release.
The company says that Kaneka Q10’s powder is tasteless, odorless, and crystalline and is thus suited for numerous functional food applications.
