Ocean Nutrition Hails Wilmar’s Omega-3 Contribution in China

Wilmar recently developed Arawana 3A+ cooking oil enriched with ONC’s MEG-3 fish oil for the Chinese market.

Ocean Nutrition Canada (ONC; Dartmouth, NS) will honor Wilmar International Limited (Wilmar; Singapore) at this week’s Natural Products Expo West show for Wilmar’s product development to combat omega-3 deficiencies in China.

Wilmar recently developed Arawana 3A+ cooking oil enriched with ONC’s MEG-3 fish oil for the Chinese market. The Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China reports that average intake of the omega-3s EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) in China is 25% lower than acceptable levels set by the U.S. Institute of Medicine, according to ONC.

Wilmar’s development has earned the company a 2010 Most Significant Contribution to Human Health Award from ONC.
