NSF International (Ann Arbor, MI) has awarded the first certification from its Dietary Supplement Quality Professional (DSQP) training program to Jera’le Smith, director of quality assurance for contract manufacturer Nutritional Laboratories International.
The DSQP program is a one-year program to train dietary supplement professionals for compliance with 21 CFR 111 Good Manufacturing Practices requirements. Sessions cover topics such as cleaning, process definition and control, documentation management, stability, laboratory controls, and ensuring methods are fit for purpose.
“The extensive industry experience of NSF’s instructors helps provide real-world case studies of workplace situations and one-on-one interaction,” Smith said.
The DSQP program is affiliated with the University of Mississippi. It was created in partnership with the United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) and the National Center for Natural Products Research (NCNPR) at the University of Mississippi. Courses are offered by UNPA in Salt Lake City, UT; NSF International in Ann Arbor, MI; NCNPR in Oxford, MS; and in conjunction with industry events.
