NPA Certification to Require 100% Natural Fragrances and Colorants

Article

Companies wishing to use the seal on home care products will have to meet these new requirements.

The Natural Products Association (NPA; Washington, DC) will require 100% natural fragrances and colorants in any home care products seeking its natural certification seal.

NPA says its changes are an effort to remove synthetic additives and colorants derived from petrochemical processing from its natural-certified products.

NPA’s new rule is effective February 1, 2012 for new certifications and recertification of products already donning the seal.
