The surgeon and former USP trustee hails from ProjectHOPE.
The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP; Rockville, MD) has installed Michael D. Maves, M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S., into the newly-created position of senior vice president of development, where he will oversee “capacity-building activities in resource-constrained parts of the world,” according to USP CEO. Roger Williams.
A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Maves previously served on USP’s Board of Trustees and was most recently the executive vice president of the global nonprofit health education and humanitarian assistance organization, Project HOPE. He also previously held the title of executive vice president and CEO of the American Medical Association.
