A new study presented at the American Heart Association’s annual scientific meeting in November has confirmed what supplements brand Life Extension says is an optimal level of vitamin D (as measured by 25-hydroxyvitamin D): between 50 to 80 ng/mL. In addition, the study found risks of atrial fibrillation at levels exceeding 100 ng/mL.
Life Extension says that this information reflects what the brand and other scientific experts have been touting in terms of optimal vitamin D levels.
The study measured 25-hydroxyvitamin D blood levels in 132,000 Americans and showed that those with higher vitamin D blood levels have substantially lower risks of degenerative diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
