KSM-66 ashwagandha can now be used in organic-marketed food and dietary supplements.
Ashwagandha ingredient KSM-66 has been certified 100% organic under USDA’s National Organic Program. Ingredient supplier Ixoreal Biomed (Hyderabad, India) says it is one of the first companies to offer certified-organic ashwagandha ingredients.
Certification by USDA’s NOP means that KSM-66 ashwagandha can now be used in organic-marketed food and dietary supplements. OneCert Asia Agri Certification verified the certification according to USDA standards. KSM-66 also meets organic standards in India, and is self-affirmed GRAS in the United States.
Ixoreal says that KSM-66 has been evaluated in five scientific studies-with two more ongoing-which showed benefits for healthy stress management. The company says KSM-66 is the only high-potency ashwagandha ingredient with a neutral, bitterless taste; by contrast, it says, other ashwagandha extracts may use hydro-alcoholic extraction processes that yield a bitter extract.
