Korea Approves Cran-Max Claim
The Korean Food and Drug Administration has approved a health claim for Proprietary Nutritionals’ (Kearny, NJ) Cran-Max cranberry concentrate.

The Korean Food and Drug Administration has approved a health claim for Proprietary Nutritionals’ (Kearny, NJ) Cran-Max cranberry concentrate. Cran-Max can now carry the claim “Functional food ingredient that is helpful for urinary tract health.”
A recent study published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy showed the ingredient to be comparable to the commonly prescribed antibiotic, trimethoprim, for the prevention of urinary tract infections in older women.
