The Latin American Responsible Nutrition Alliance (ALANUR) is an industry and consumer advocacy group for food supplements produced and marketed in Latin America.
The International Alliance of Dietary/Food Supplement Associations (IADSA; Brussels) has established the Latin American Responsible Nutrition Alliance (ALANUR), an industry association for food supplements produced and marketed in Latin America.
A creation of IADSA's Latin American Working Group, ALANUR is currently made up of 10 member companies marketing products throughout the region. IADSA states the association is open to responsible food supplement manufacturers and suppliers which market products in the region and hold significant market position in at least one Latin American country.
“The trend across the globe, including across Latin America, is towards more rather than less regulation, more demanding legislation, and a greater need for high quality, scientific, technical, regulatory guidance to decision-makers,” said IADSA regulatory affairs directory David Pineda. “Legislation is a critical factor in determining market opportunity and market entry. The aim of ALANUR is to ensure a clear and enforced regulatory framework for food supplements covering a broad range of safe ingredients, appropriate globally recognized manufacturing standards, and technical requirements, and sufficient consumer information.”
