HealthCo (Bloomingdale, IL), a division of NOW Health Group, has received a "No Objections" letter from FDA regarding the Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) determination of its Stevia FSE ingredient. The ingredient was self-affirmed as GRAS since May 2010.
According to HealthCo, Stevia FSE does not require masking or added flavoring because it is enzymatically treated to remove potential bitter after and because it is derived from the whole stevia leaf, rather than being an isolated Reb A fraction.
Certified organic and kosher, Stevia FSE is available in bulk powder, private label consumer sizes, and food service bulk packets.
