GNC to Acquire LuckyVitamin.com

The acquisition would allow GNC to strengthen its presence in e-commerce and broaden its customer reach.

GNC Holdings inc. has agreed to acquire online nutritional supplement retailer LuckyVitamin.com. GNC says that its website, www.gnc.com, will continue to operate separately from LuckyVitamin.com.

“LuckyVitamin.com is a true Internet pioneer in the health and wellness industry and has built a strong online brand and business as a discount retailer,” stated GNC’s president and CEO Joe Fortunato. He said that the acquisition would allow GNC to strengthen its presence in e-commerce and broaden its customer reach.

Founded in 2004, LuckyVitamin.com generated $40 million in revenue in the past year.
