Ganeden Biotech (Cleveland) claims that its patented probiotic strain, GanedenBC30, will be the first probiotic added to coffee.

The probiotic specialist says it is working with several manufacturers to get probiotic coffees on the market in the coming weeks.

GanedenBC30 is a strain of Bacillus coagulans. Ganeden says this probiotic is especially suited for the food and beverage space because of its unique ability to survive in high-heat manufacturing and the human digestive tract. The ingredient is already featured in tea products from The Republic of Tea, Bigelow Tea Company, GT Kombucha, KeVita, and Tipton Mills.
