FrieslandCampina Domo (Amersfoort, The Netherlands) is investing €130 million to expand its production plants in Beilen and Bedum in The Netherlands, doubling its capacity for producing infant formulas.
The Beilen site will receive €100 million to expand its mixing capacity and install a new drier and packaging line for infant nutrition. The Bedum plant will get €30 million to scale up processing for de-mineralized whey ingredients.
“Infant nutrition is one of the spearheads of FrieslandCampina’s route2020 strategy,” stated Herman Ermens, managing director, in a press release. “The projected growth will be based partly on increasing demand for high-quality infant nutrition, primarily in Asia.”
