European Commission Gives Nod to Cognis Acquisition

The European Commission yesterday approved BASF’s acquisition of Cognis, BASF reported. In addition, Chinese authorities have also approved the acquisition, which is expected to close in the first half of December.

Including net financial debt and pension obligations, the transaction is valued at €3.1 billion, with an equity purchase price of €700 million.
