Equine Supplement to Include ChromaDex’s pTeroGold Pterostilbene-Curcumin Hybrid Ingredient
The company says that an equine clinical study will further evaluate the product's effects on oxidative stress and inflammation.
The new equine product will be called Platinum Longevity and will support a horse’s ability to cope with oxidative stress and support healthy levels of inflammation. According to ChromaDex, pterostilbene has been shown to be up to seven times more bioavailable than antioxidant ingredient resveratrol. Curcumin is an antioxidant naturally found in turmeric and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory and antiaging properties.
“Platinum Longevity has the potential to greatly benefit the health and performance of equine and companion animals,” stated Platinum Performance president and cofounder Mark Herthel. “After an initial pilot study demonstrated significant, positive results in horses, we decided to move forward with the development of Platinum Longevity and will initiate a larger clinical study this year.”
ChromaDex’s vice president of marketing, Ann Deren-Lewis, added, “Equine health is a new avenue for ChromaDex, and we are thrilled to collaborate with Platinum Performance…”
