To meet the growing needs of food and oral care industries, Danisco (Copenhagen) is expanding its cellulose gum production facility in Zhangjiagang, China. The upgrade will increase production by an estimated 5000 metric tons and is expected to be finished by 2012.
“The food industry has reacted positively to our range of Grindsted Cellulose gum products, which, unlike others on the market, are specified and dedicated towards a defined application,” said Jean-Baptiste Dufeu, Danisco’s cellulose gum product manager.
Danisco’s cellulose gum range is made up of five application categories: acidified and neutral dairy applications, beverages, bakery, toothpaste, and miscellaneous applications.
The company states that its entire gum range meets international food regulations and meets the requirements for Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
