As part of the Council for Responsible Nutrition’s 2026 programming, seven presentations selected by an industry steering committee will cover probiotics, DHA, and sports nutrition for female athletes, and more.

The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) has released the presentation lineup for its 2026 Innovation Exchange, part of the trade association's Signature Events slate taking place October 6–8 at the Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, California.1 The showcase will run alongside two other components of CRN's fall programming: SciComms Connect and Convergence '26.2

Who Selected the Presentations, and What Do They Cover?

Seven presentations were selected by a steering committee drawn from Better Being Co., GNC Holdings, Kenvue/Zarbee's, Nature's Way, and the Unilever Wellbeing Collective. CRN said the group's cross-functional makeup was intended to ensure selected topics carry both scientific rigor and market relevance. The lineup spans women's health, microbiome science, metabolic wellness, sports nutrition, and ingredient innovation, with presenters representing Balchem Nutrition, Biohm Technologies, dsm-firmenich, Kaneka Probiotics, Nutriventia Private Limited, Probi, and Specialty Enzymes & Probiotics.

Topics include female athlete performance and menstrual-cycle joint and muscle health; fungal probiotic development; higher-dose microalgal DHA for maternal health; a precision probiotic approach to menopause targeting the estrobolome; pharmacokinetic data as a clinical evidence standard for botanical and nutraceutical ingredients; probiotic support for athletic performance and iron absorption; and approaches to sugar metabolism as a complement to GLP-1 use.

“Some of the most important emerging research influencing the future of health and nutrition is represented in this year’s slate of selected Innovation Exchange presentations,” stated Rachel Kreider, Vice President, Product Innovation, GNC. “We look forward to hearing from these innovative companies, executing with scientific rigor to deliver targeted health solutions addressing consumer needs. And we invite industry stakeholders to join us this fall for a firsthand look at the science and technologies shaping tomorrow's products.”

What Format Will the Sessions Take, and Who Can Attend?

Each session is structured as a 20-minute data snapshot.2 Access to Innovation Exchange is complimentary for registered attendees of CRN's Signature Events, and the event will include tabletop exhibits and networking sessions with presenting companies.

How Does This Lineup Fit Into CRN's Broader 2026 Programming?

The Innovation Exchange lineup follows CRN's earlier announcement of the agenda for its inaugural SciComms Connect symposium, which opens the Signature Events on October 6 under the theme "Bridging Science and Marketing to Advance Women's Vitality." That program is built around translating scientific evidence on women's health into commercial communication that holds up under regulatory scrutiny. According to Andrea Wong, Ph.D., CRN's senior vice president and chief science officer, “SciComms Connect brings together the scientific, product development, and communications communities to help shape a future where credible science drives innovation, informs consumer choice, and strengthens trust in dietary supplements and functional foods.”

What Else Is on the SciComms Connect Agenda?

SciComms Connect sessions cover menopause and healthy aging, metabolic and hormonal health, and maternal nutrition, with speakers drawn from academic institutions including the University of Arizona, Ohio State University, and the University of Kansas Medical Center, alongside industry scientists from companies such as Bonafide Health and USANA Health Sciences. The keynote, delivered by Heather Woolery-Lloyd, M.D., chief medical advisor at Nutrafol, addresses frameworks for measuring clinical efficacy in evidence-based female supplementation.

What Role Does Convergence '26 Play?

Convergence '26, running October 7–8, is described as reinforcing the same compliance-oriented themes established in the earlier programming. CRN President and CEO Steve Mister has tied the industry's long-term growth prospects to how manufacturers align around standards of responsible leadership amid a shifting regulatory and political environment.
