Television health icon Dr. Oz devoted a five-minute segment of his February 22 The Dr Oz Show to coconut palm sugar, calling it “the best new sugar alternative," according to supplier Big Tree Farms.
Coconut palm sugar got an acknowledgement from television personality Doctor Oz when he devoted a recent television segment to this “best new sugar alternative,” according to leading producer Big Tree Farms (Ashland, OR).
The ingredient is produced from the juices of coconut palm flowers, which are boiled into a thick caramel and then grounded to a fine crystal.
Big Tree Farms says its SweetTree coconut palm sugar is a low-glycemic, one-to-one replacement for sugar. The sweetener is also high in potassium and magnesium, according to the company.
Available under USDA organic standards, SweetTree coconut palm sugar is available in baker bags, shaker jars, and single-serving sachets.
