ChromaDex Acquires Spherix Consulting

Ingredients supplier and reference standards company ChromaDex Corp. (Irvine, CA) has acquired Spherix Consulting Inc. (Bethesda, MD), which specializes in regulatory submissions for food and dietary supplement ingredients. Submission types include GRAS and NDI notifications, food additive petitions, and novel food petitions.

“By providing a more comprehensive suite of science-based and regulatory services, ChromaDex will [be] able to more efficiently advance products in the dietary supplement, food and beverage, animal health, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical markets,” stated ChromaDex in a press release.

Spherix will become a wholly owned subsidiary of ChromaDex. It will continue to maintain its offices near Washington, DC. Claire Kruger will continue as president of Spherix Consulting.
