The company is offering its tabletop stevia for U.S. and EU markets, according to marketing partner Brenner Pharma/Food.

Chengdu Wagott Pharmaceuticals Co. (Chengdu, China) is launching private label tabletop stevia sweeteners for the United States and European Union markets, according to Israel-based marketing partner Brenner Pharma/Food.

The tabletop sweetener is derived from Wagott’s ViaSweet Reb-A ingredient, for which the company filed self-affirmed Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status earlier this year.

Wagott controls 12,000 acres for stevia farming in China, including 300 acres for certified-organic stevia available to U.S. and EU markets.

A member of the International Stevia Council, Wagott engages in what it calls a “farm to table” stevia business.
