Charles Ross Improves Planetary Mixer Gearbox Design

Article

Newly improved sealed and purged gearbox assemblies are specifically designed for sensitive applications that require protection against contamination.

Charles Ross & Son Co. (Hauppauge, NY) is offering its Ross Planetary Mixers, ideal for mixing viscous fluids or wet granulations, with newly improved sealed and purged gearbox assemblies specifically designed for sensitive applications that require protection against contamination.

The mixers feature two planetary blades that rotate on their own axes, while orbiting the mix vessel on a common axis-mixing action ideal for viscous fluids or wet granulations. The stainless-steel sealed gearbox housing includes a sloped cover to prevent contamination and pooling of condensed liquids, and solvent vapors and airborne particles are also prevented from entering the gearbox.
