In this role, he leads the ANSI-accredited certifier’s work with hundreds of dietary supplement manufacturers around the world, and he played an instrumental role in the development of the NSF/ANSI 455-2 dietary supplement GMP standard. He has worked in the dietary supplements and functional foods sector for more than 25 years.

Marielle Weintraub, PhD, is a founding board member and current president of the U.S. Hemp Authority.The U.S. Hemp Authority Certification Program is the industry’s initiative to provide high standards, best practices, and self-regulation, giving confidence to consumers, regulators, and law enforcement that hemp products can be trusted.Marielle’s career in hemp began when, following a dietary supplement conference in Boulder, CO, she brought the need for valid and reliable hemp testing to Covance Food Solutions in 2016, which later became a part of Eurofins Laboratories. Because of the rapid market shift and the rate at which the hemp industry began to grow, Marielle was focused on hemp full-time as the strategic business development director of the Hemp Initiative at Eurofins Food Integrity and Innovation. She continued to drive development of hemp-specific product testing until she left Eurofins in 2019, and continues to innovate in the hemp industry as the director of scientific research and development for Zilis.Marielle is active in many dietary supplement and hemp industry trade associations. She is a member of the Expert Review Panel and working group for AOAC’s Cannabis Analytical Science Program (CASP) – Cannabinoid Methods, board member of the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, and member of the American Herbal Products Association’s Cannabis Committee. Marielle earned her MS and PhD in behavioral neuroscience, focusing her research on Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
