
Cargill Outlines Safety and Sustainability Goals
Among other 2015 goals, Cargill plans increase its renewable energy usage by 12.5%.
Cargill (Minneapolis) has announced its 2015 worker safety and environmental sustainability goals. By 2015, the company aims to achieve zero fatalities and zero injuries at 75% of its facilities around the world. Cargill also plans to increase its renewable energy usage and freshwater efficiency by 12.5% and 5% respectively.
New worker safety strategies employed last year have, among other achievements, led to a 50% reduction in fatalities at Cargill facilities.
The company has made complementary progress in environmental sustainability with 11% of its energy portfolio coming from renewable sources in 2011.
