In an effort to improve on its natural flavoring supply, Blue California (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) is now offering BlueSweet, a GRAS-affirmed extract of luo han guo (Siraitia grosvenorii), better known as monk fruit.
Standardized for mogroside V (monk fruit’s main sweetening compound), BlueSweet provides excellent solubility at nearly zero calories. According to Blue California, its extract is 300 times sweeter than sugar. The natural sweetening extract can be used in a variety of foods, beverages, and supplements, including protein powders, nutrition bars, cereals, desserts, and confectionery.
“We are very pleased to introduce yet another superb natural sweetener for food and beverage applications,” says Blue California executive vice president Cecilia McCollum. “We are focused on expanding our food ingredients division and helping customers meet the growing customer demand for natural sweeteners and flavors.”
