Beneo to Host Euro Conference on Prebiotic Fibers, Functional Carbs

The program includes various presentations on scientific and regulatory affairs.

By way of its Beneo-Institute for scientific and regulatory research, the Beneo Group will host a second European Scientific Symposium, specifically focusing on prebiotic fibers and functional carbohydrates. The event will be held during March 12-13 in Heidelberg, Germany at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory.

Beneo’s symposium will feature presentations from academic experts on emerging science and regulatory approaches to these food ingredient categories, including:

  • Physiological importance of carbohydrates with a low glycemic response for the human body

  • Options to reduce the glycemic properties of food

  • The effects of the European legislation in light of EU Health Claim regulations

  • New perspectives on what constitutes healthy human gut microbiota

  • The role of prebiotic fibers in weight management and infant nutrition
